Future Investment and Development for Techniblock

Techniblock News - Significant Investment by South African Manufacturers

I spent 10 days visiting family in South Africa in early November and it was fabulous to jet off from London just as the weather turned really cold here and soak up some sunshine in the very place where Techniblock is manufactured.

I also took the opportunity to meet with the partners at Technikon and hear all about their plans for the future.

In March 2017, Technikon will change it's name to Zyora following a change of ownership. The new business has generated a 6 Billion Rand investment to grow and develop over the next 7-10 years.  There are some exciting ideas for the Techniblock sunscreen range, which includes re-sizing all the large cans to 200ml with a twist lock-cap. We think this will be a much better size for Techniblock – less bulky to pack for a fortnight’s holiday and although the trigger sprays are popular, they can be temperamental so the new twist lock-cap is preferred.  The tried and trusted lightweight Techniblock formula will be enhanced with anti-oxidants and natural extracts to help stimulate the DNA repair system in the skin, enhancing the skin's complexion and combating the formulation of wrinkles by maintaining skin elasticity.
The handy 75ml sprays will continue to be produced, an ideal size for your beach or sports bag and perfect if you’re travelling abroad and taking hand luggage only. Other new products include an SPF50 lip balm and a new, improved After Sun.  There will also be a fresh and updated logo and design.

Spending time in South Africa also gave me a chance to really put Techniblock sunscreen through its paces and reinforced our belief in the product we import.

If anyone should know a thing or two about protecting ourselves from the sun, it’s the South Africans.  The heat is intense and the sun is very harsh for nearly 10 months of the year, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in the summer and only dropping to an average of 24 degrees Celsius in the winter.

Techniblock’s non-greasy, odourless formula sprays on effortlessly and dries instantly to form an invisible barrier against harmful UVA and UVB rays.  It’s the best sunscreen for sensitive skin prone to prickly heat because it’s oil-free and lightweight, allowing pores to breathe.  It’s also highly water resistant and offers excellent protection even when swimming or on the water.

I enjoyed a sunburn-free trip to South Africa and came back with a healthy glow.  If you want first class sun protection, look no further than Techniblock sunscreen.  Available in SPF30, SPF40 and SPF50, as well as a Children's range, anti-ageing face cream and lip balm, it's the best sunscreen for sensitive skin prone to prickly heat.  The absence of oils and emulsifiers in it's formula, make Techniblock a very water resistant but breathable suncare product, suitable for the whole family.  Get it at www.techniblock.co.uk
